Today we are excited to announce you can now create or update Jira issues directly from the Jeli IR Bot! This expanded functionality to our Jira integration can be used in a few different ways.

  • Create a new Jira issue at the same time of opening an incident with the command “/jeli open”. This is great for orgs who want to track incident history in a single Jira issue, as many organizations have a Jira project specifically dedicated to incidents!

You can even set a default Jira project and issue type in “/jeli settings” to save time when creating a new incident.

  • During an active incident, create a new Jira issue or update an existing issue using the command “/jeli jira”. This is great for when you only track incidents in Jira once they reach a certain severity level, which responders may only know after some troubleshooting or when they want to start attaching work items related to the incident.
  • Link an existing Jira issue during an active incident with the command “/jeli jira”. This is great for keeping track of engineering work that is being completed in relation to an incident or for previous incidents that relate to the current one being worked on!
  • Finally, you can view a list of attached Jira issues in both the incident overview (“/jeli overview”) or with the command “/jeli jira list”.

You can check this out for yourself today. Our IR Bot for Slack is free– just make sure to add the Jira integration
