Within one month, you will
• Meet with representatives from Product, Design, Research, and Customer Solutions to build relationships and learn about our processes.
• Understand our customers’ needs and our product offerings.
• Participate in your team’s ceremonies, and work to understand its purpose, workflows, strengths, and constraints.
Within three months, you will
• Take over recruiting and hiring for your team.
• Mentor, coach, and hold your team accountable to high standards.
• Identify growth opportunities for engineers that match their skill level and career trajectory.
• Manage and triage escalations, interruptions, and expectations from other teams.
• Start to contribute to organizational processes and projects.
Within six months, you will
• Celebrate accomplishments and discuss opportunities for growth within your team through our quarterly continuous feedback process.
• Manage your team’s gardening work (technical debt) by working with engineers to identify needed investments and advocating for them in our planning process.

Your Impact

Required Skills
  • Experience directly managing healthy, high-performing software engineering teams.
  • Strong prioritization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A proven track record of collaborating with peers to achieve successful outcomes for the company.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with front-end concepts related to React, Ant Design, and Typescript.
  • Experience coordinating or participating in incident response and / or incident analysis.
